How to Reach:
By Air: Bagdogra Airport is the nearest airport to Baasbari located at 85 km via NH 110 and Matigara – Kurseong Road. Bagdogra Airport is well connected by daily flights with Kolkata, Guwahati, Delhi and few other major cities of India. From Bagdogra Airport tourists will get hired vehicle service to reach Baasbari via Bijanbari. It takes about 03 to 3.5 hours to reach Baasbari from Bagdogra Airport. Apart from that one can also fly upto Pakyong Airport in Sikkim which is located at 42 km away from Bijanbari, but the numbers of flights are much lesser than Bagdogra Airport. From Bijanbari one can easily reach Baasabri.
By Train: New Jalpaiguri Railway Station or NJP is the nearest rail head to Baasbari located at a distance of 84 km away via NH 10. NJP railway station is well connected by daily train services with Kolkata and other major cities of India. From NJP railway station tourists will get both hired and reserved vehicle service to reach Baasbari. As Baasbari is located close to Bijanbari hence most of the vehicles reach upto Bijanbari and from there either by walking or by the same vehicle one can easily reach Baasbari.
By Road: Baasbari is well connected by good motor able roads with Siliguri (75.2 km) via Matigara – Kurseong Road. Apart from that Baasbari is also well connected with Darjeeling (24 km), Kurseong (42.7 km), Mirik (52 km) , Kalimpong (57.8 km) via Melli – Nayabazaar Road and Gangtok (94.4 km) via NH 10. Best time to visit:
Though Baasbari can be visited throughout the year, but it is advisable to avoid the monsoon season due to messy road condition.
