Baramangwa is rapidly growing as a calm offbeat tourist location situated at the sub-division of Darjeeling district in the Indian state of West Bengal. Baramangwa can also be regarded as mountain slop on Teesta Valley located on the western side of Kalimpong Hills.   • Tinchuley: Located at a distance of 10.5 km away from Baramangwa, the beautiful and model village of Tinchuley was developed by WWF (World Wide Fund for Nature) in order to promote village tourism in the hills.
  • LamahattaLamahatta is also a beautiful village of Darjeeling sub division located at a distance of 16 km away from Baramangwa. For the past few years Lamahatta is developed as a tourist destination.
  • Takdah: Popularly known for its old British Bungalows, lush green tea estates and stunning view of sunrise and sunset, Takdah is located at a distance of 16 km via Takling road and 14.3 km via Lopchu road from Baramangwa.
  • Chotamangwa: Located at a distance of 12 km from Baramangwa, the village of Chotamangwa is a beautiful table type hill top specially known for the magnificent view of the snow-capped Himalayan ranges, orange orchards and lush greenery.
  • Darjeeling: The queen of hills Darjeeling is located at a distance of 35 km away from Baramangwa and tourists can easily cover the local watchable around Darjeeling in a day trip from Baramangwa.
  • Triveni: Triveni (also known as Lover’s Meet View Point) is the confluence point of two important rivers namely Teesta and Rangeet and is located at a distance of 08 km away from Baramangwa.
  • Tea Estates: In and around the village of Baramangwa there are several important tea estates are located. Some of these notable tea estates are Peshoke Tea Estate (08 km), Rungli Rungliot Tea Estate (17.6 km via Takling road and 15.7 km via Lopchu road) and Lopchu Tea Estate (15 km).

How to reach:

By Air: Bagdogra Airport is the nearest airport to Baramangwa located at a distance of 67 km away. Bagdogra Airport is well connected by regular flight services with Kolkata, Guwahati and Delhi. From Bagdogra Airport tourists will get hired vehicles to reach Baramangwa at a journey of 2.5 hours.

By Train: New Jalpaiguri Railway Station (NJP) is the nearest rail head to Baramangwa located at a distance of 62 km away via NH10. NJP railway station is well connected with rest of India by good railway networks. From NJP railway station tourists will also get hired vehicles to reach Baramangwa.

By RoadBaramangwa is well connected by good roadway networks with the nearest junction Siliguri (60 km). Apart from that Baramangwa can also be reach from all the nearby destinations by reserved vehicles. Though shared vehicles are available but on very rare occasions. Hence tourists are advised to avail reserved vehicles to reach Baramangwa from the nearby destinations. The route to Baramangwa from Siliguri is via Sevoke, Kalijhora, Teesta Bazaar and Peshoke Tea Estate. Tourists coming from Darjeeling can take the route via Hill Cart Road, Ghoom, Jorebungalow, 06th Mile and Takdah to reach Baramangwa.

Best time to visit Baramangwa:
Baramangwa can be visited throughout the year, but it is advisable to avoid the monsoon season. Winter is the best to witness the ripped oranges along with numerous bird species. Summers at Baramangwa are quiet comfortable and ideal to escape the scorching heat of the plains.
